I fetched 7,392,736 moving violations issued by The DC Metropolitan Police Department and partner agencies in Washington, DC. First up: drivers from which state are the biggest contributors to this list of malefactors?
Unfortunately, not every citation has driver license information. Only 1,329,401 (or about 18%) of the total citations fetched contained an entry under column ‘DRV_LIC_STATE’.
But who amongst the other two major #DMV jurisdictions were the biggest offenders? Is anecdotal evidence and local lore backed by solid data?
The answer is yes, by a wide margin:
- MD 110,807
- VA 45,067
So there you go… backed by empirical data. And somehow Florida also ranks in the top five.
